Quilt Day

Each month a group of us get together for quilt day! I am always amazed by the creativity and talent each quilter brings to the group.

This is Kim, she is our newest (and youngest) quilter. She just started quilting and I think even sewing and has already finished two quilts for her kids. Kim is a professional photographer and a very creative person. Did I mention she's creative!!! She is a self-starter/teacher and highly motivated. She learned to quilt on a tutorial from You Tube! This is what she's working on now...

Jolyn and Susan are at it again! They are always making the most amazing things. Jolyn decided that her shoes were a little boring, so she jazzed 'em up by adding embroidery. These were plain black converse when she came and adorable works of art when she left...

In the past month Susan pieced, appliqued and hand quilted these two adorable baby quilts...

here are some close ups (she's a crazy good quilter)...

Debbie saw these really great flowers at anthropologie and was happily raiding her stash of fabulous fabrics to try a few of her own...

Laurie is trying out hand quilting for the first time. She seems to have bonded with it right away! We are all giving her advice on the best thimble to use. Any thoughts...

This is a block of the month project that I've been working on...
Quilt day is always fun...

That would be so fun, getting together to quilt. I haven't done a lot of quilting, but have been thinking about taking my machine down to MILs and make some runners while I'm sitting with her. I always take a basketful of choices of things to work on while I'm keeping her company.
I loved all the different pieces you all have done! Karen

Ooooo .... I love the embroidery on the shoes. Gotta get me some and "trick them out"! Maybe some inexpensive Keds (do they still make those) and have them masquerade as designer wear ... lol!

You and your gals are creative -- and seems like full of fun, too!

Thanks for sharing the pics ..

Betty :)

Laurie I know Jolyn I have taken some classes from her in Battle Ground, small world. Huh? I have been so busy doing other things I have not been sewing for a while you all inspire me. I went to the Clark County Quilt show this weekend and saw some beautiful quilts.
