a day at the raSes

Last weekend I had the privilege of some wonderful company. Meet Faith, Luke and Rebecca, the best nieces and nephew on the planet...
Remember that gorgeous sunshine we had (close your eyes and try real hard)? The kids decided it was the perfect day for a boat race. We turned a little of this...

into some spectacular watercraft...

This was no paltry boat race. We had to test our watercraft for airtightness. Fill out official entry forms. Name our boats. Pass a physical (ok, maybe not the physical but everything else is true)...

There was a formal ceremony before the race began. Including a speech, taking bows and applause (I think a few bets were made behind the scenes)...

Let's not forget the celebrity photo ops...

and we're off...

After alot of shouting, running and cheering...

along with a few technical difficulties and accusations of cheating...

We made it to the finish line...

A clear winner could not be determined on account of the cheating...

It was a great day at the races or is that rases, no it's races, rases, races, you decide!!!

You have the coolest COMPOUND ever! I just loved it out there. That little stream is such a gift for the kidlets. How fun!

Lor,

I love what a wonderful, creative thing you did with the kids. No wonder they love to come to your house! You always make it so special for them.
A great Mother's day gift would be that photo album with some of Blake and Chelsea too, with the stories. (Just a little suggestion.)
