Word for 2012

Many people choose a word for the new year. I am among those people.

Why choose a word?

The process of choosing a word may help clarify where you are going in life. A thoughtful choice can stimulate the process of setting your course and determining goals.

This morning as I was looking over my list of possible words, something new came to me.  After mentally trying it out I realized it is the perfect word. One that suggests a state of being. A place that requires thankfulness, humility, contentment. It's a beautiful word. One that I will remind myself of daily. I want, need to embrace this word.  Maybe you can relate to the tendency of taking life and circumstances a little too seriously. Don't beat yourself up. Some of us are wired that way. Perhaps you will want to embrace this word as your own.

The word I've chosen for 2012 is...

joy·ful

adjective

1. full of joy,  as a person or one's heart; glad; delighted.

2. showing or expressing joy,  as looks, actions, or speech.
3. causing or bringing joy,  as an event, a sight, or news; delightful:

1.  joyous, happy, blithe; buoyant, elated, jubilant.

These images are great expressions of being joyful!

I too have chosen a word for myself this year. I thought long and hard about it before January, as the word needs to reflect where we are in life. Where we want to go. Mine is courage. I love yours! You've brought more joy to my life, and you mean more to me than you can ever know. Love you Laurie!

Okay, LOVING that little girl in the first photo! If that's not pure unadulterated joy, I don't know what is!

Also, what a sweet note from your mom. Love, love, love.

A joyful year to you...xo
