Quilt Day!

Yesterday was quilt day... A group of us gets together once a month for "quilt day". I don't know how much quilting ever gets done, but we have a great time talking, eating, and catching up. It's always fun to see what everyone is working on...

Jolyn is making a cross as a Christmas gift. She is very talented. I'll have to share more of her amazing needlework with you later.

Jolyn also made this adorable pin cushion. It's made using an old zinc canning lid as the base and wool for the cushion with cute little wool flowers as the decoration. We all freaked out over it and said we had to have one! So next month we are all making them!

Debbie found a beautiful quilt at a yard sale. But at some point a huge hopscotch game was zig zag appliqued all over the back. Now she is patiently undoing the hopscotch and restoring the quilt to it's original glory. Do you think they really played hopscotch on it?

Susan is always doing something amazing....

We were (okay, I was) trying to steal this bag that Susan knitted and felted. Don't you just love it! I told you she's amazing...

I think this bag really needs to go home with me...

We celebrated Sherryl and Laurie's birthdays...

Laurie is giving Sherryl a lesson on using a needle threader. If you don't have one you should run out and get one now!!! They're fantastic...

Another great Quilt Day...

Hi Laurie, thanks for stopping by my place and taking the time to comment. What a delightful blog you have. I love your treasure seeking finds -- you got some great old stuff (the milk cans!).

And, what a fun day you had with friends, working with your hands and enjoying sweet friendship.

What the heck is that ball you are holding? I love that thing! Is there an age requirement to come to your quilt group??? You know, I'm almost 30! Can you even believe it??? Love you!

It's always fun to see the things that others make. I've embroidered and cross-stitched for over 20 years, but have never taken the leap to actually quilting. You had a nice selection of projects to share......
