Strawberries

It's that wonderful time of year.... The Oregon strawberry season is in full swing! I bought two flats, made some great shortcake, put some in the freezer and made strawberry jam with the rest....

It was a ton of work but worth it!

LOL, great minds think alike! I actually made strawberry jam today, too! Is yours freezer jam? I love that you have them in the old jars, they really look pretty. My kids went with my elderly friend and picked 48 pounds last Wednesday for me. And that's exactly what we did, froze some, some were for fresh eating, and I had some measured out and froze them to make the jam today. They are beautiful this year!!

Strawberries must be in all our minds!! We went strawberry picking this weekend, too, but the field looked pretty picked.... Hope to see you soon!! Will you come and hit Expo?

I went out to Sauvie's Island with Dan and Nancy a couple of weeks ago and got delicious, fresh strawberries and some fresh veggies. did just as you did except did not put the jam in great old jars. I also baked a fresh strawberry/rhubarb pie. The rhubarb was from Gloria's garden.
There are no strawberries as sweet as Oregon berries!!
Next comes raspberries, yummmmm.
